A 70-year old woman was airlifted by Flight for Life to Lutheran General Hospital about 3 p.m. Sunday and pronounced dead soon afterward after a minivan struck the driver’s side of her car in the intersection of Dunton Avenue and Euclid Avenue.

Arlington Heights Fire Department responded with three ambulances. One or more victims were entrapped and required rescue extrication. The intersection was closed for about two hours with the accident vehicles in place while police investigated the accident. The stoplight control device was also severly damaged.

The Flight for Life helicopter landed at an athletic field near Olympic Park Pool and met the Arlington Heights Fire Department ambulance with the patient from the accident scene.
