Arlington Heights Fire Department and mutual aid companies contained a fire to one unit and the attic of a three story apartment building near the intersection of Dryden and Miner (911 East) early Saturday afternoon. The roof was ventilated by fire crews working on the roof. Fire departments from Buffalo Grove, Des Plaines, Elk Grove, Glenview, Hoffman Estates, Lake Zurich, Palatine, Prospect Heights and Rolling Meadows provided on-scene assistance or station coverage. The fire was under control within one hour (photos).
